You will have more than thirty different nations to choose from, each with its strengths and weaknesses. Algeria, for example, has a lot of territory and power, but precisely because of this its objectives are very ambitious; while Togo has far fewer resources, but its objectives are more restrained.

The first thing you see when you start a new game of Africa Empire 2027 is the map of Africa, with all the countries clearly differentiated by colors. On the left side of the screen you will have all the information related to your incipient empire: land mass, population, money, rebels and the current date. Touching the information menu will give you instant access to the list of actions you can perform during your turn. You will be able to buy weapons, send spies, mobilize your troops, establish new diplomatic relations, start talks at the United Nations, invest in technology, or try to improve the country's economy.

Before making a decision, however, you will have to analyze it thoroughly, since they are much more complex than they may seem at first glance. Investing in technology, for example, is not simply a matter of pushing that button. Investing in technology involves analyzing the benefits of improving investment in renewable energy compared to improving the technology of your air force. Similarly, you will have more than a dozen different types of troops to buy, so it is important to analyze what you want to use them for before making your purchase. After all, if all you want is to defend your borders, you may not need many fighter jets.

One of the strong points of Africa Empire 2027, as is the case with other titles by this developer, is that it allows you to play alone, against the artificial intelligence; as well as in multiplayer mode, against up to eight human opponents. And, even better, you will be able to play both over the Internet and in a local network. In this game mode, each player takes their turn, can send text messages to the others, and once everyone has finished, it is on to the next turn. From the options menu, you can also change the interface language, choosing from more than 30 different languages, so you can play with friends from all over the world.
